Purpose of Position:
This position will provide clinical services in Public Health Offices and other settings. Incumbent will supervise nursing and clerical staff and is responsible for hiring, orienting, training, staff. Position will support various Public Health Programs and assure adherence to clinical protocols, standing orders, and policies and procedures. Incumbent will also work with community groups to improve health within the community and will provide direct clinical services. This position will participate in emergency preparedness.

This position is a Pay Band 85.
Registered Nurse Supervisor
Associates Degree in Nursing or graduation from a NLN accredited program accepted by the New Mexico Board of Nursing and three (3) years paid experience as a Registered Nurse.
Must possess and maintain a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act), and successful completion of CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvements Act) trainings are required within sixty (60) days of employment. Position will require Blood-borne pathogen training and successful completion of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) course within thirty (30) days as condition of continued employment.
All applicants for this position must be licensed in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act § 61-3-2 through 61-3-31 NMSA 1978 and 16.12.1 through 16.12.20 NMAC, as applicable. You must include your license or certificate number in the "License" section of the application form.

Services are provided in a clinic with a diverse racial and ethnic population, many of whom do not speak English, in auxiliary, and community site settings, and occasionally in the client's home. Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Potential exposure to communicable diseases. Travel to provide outreach and coverage to include overnight travel to attend training sessions and meetings is required.
