Purpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to provide Legal services on behalf of the HSD Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED). This position will obtain and enforce Child Support orders, file motions and briefs in a timely manner, represent the State in a professional and competent manner, attend hearings, work with opposing counsel and pro se parties and approve legal documents in a timely manner. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in bankruptcy law.

This position is a pay band 75.
Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited school of law and three (3) years of experience in the practice of law.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or qualified to apply for limited practice license, which requires graduation from an accredited school of law, licensure (in good standing) in another state and sitting for the next eligible State Bar exam.

Are you licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of New Mexico OR qualified to apply for limited practice license which requires graduation from an accredited school of law, licensure (in good standing) in another state, and sitting for the next eligible NM State Bar exam?

Do you have experience representing agency/clients before administrative boards, trials and appellate courts, generally as lead or co-counsel?
Have you drafted legal documents pertaining to family law or child support?
Have you drafted, evaluated, and reviewed pleadings and appellate briefs, opinions, correspondence, proposed legislation and regulations, and other documents?
Do you have experience coordinating and conducting discovery and interviewing witnesses?
