Job Summary: Zel Technologies is seeking candidates for a UAS Engineer position to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Research & Development Directorate (RD). The successful candidate will help in identifying and conducting innovative, operationally focused CWMD and other asymmetric threat-related research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) in order to deliver products and services to combatant commanders (CCDRs), the Military Services, and DTRA. The System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support provided to the Research & Development Directorate (RD) Test Science and Technology Department (RDTS) ensures effective program execution from technical management to test operational support. RDTS, located at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB), New Mexico (NM), also maintains mobile test capabilities and operates permanent test sites at Kirtland AFB; White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM; and Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), Nevada (NV). The RDTS provides end-to-end test event planning, management, test bed design and construction, pre-test predictions, safe execution, and post-test data analysis.
Essential Job Functions:
Independently develop, manage, and implement instrumentation plans and methodologies to meet measurement objectives to support DTRA testing
Develop plans, methodologies and instrumentation system to test Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS), and autonomous systems used in CWMD testing
Develop testing for methodologies to defeat unmanned and autonomous systems as well as verifying offensive capabilities
Conduct market research and stay abreast of latest unmanned and autonomous systems as well as sensors, detectors, and samplers that can be integrated into various platforms
Integrate hardware and software across many different UAS, UGS, autonomous, and data acquisition systems and platforms to create integrated fixed and mobile instrumentation capabilities.

- BA/BS + 5 years experienceOR 4 - 9 years experience in lieu of degree
- Must have a current Secret clearance with the ability to acquire a TS clearance and obtain a Special Compartmental Information (SCI) level clearance
