Full time Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, opportunity for our Roma location
Overview of Position: Manages the process of developing, implementing and ensuring adherence to policies, procedures and regulations. Manages all aspects of training and compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations. Is responsible for keeping up with changing regulatory to insure compliance with all laws and regulations that impact the organization. Manages and serves as main contact for all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies and acts as the Safety specialist for the organization. Involved in the design and development of facilities to ensure Patient and Teammate safety. Makes Facilities environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Holds a key role as the company’s EH & S Specialist, ensuring OSHA, ADA, NFPA and EPA compliance. Manages the organization's safety programs.
Responsible for developing, implementing, training and monitoring safety/environmental policies and procedures.
Responsible for monitoring and keeping abreast of changes of federal, state and local environmental and safety laws to ensure the organization is compliant with all regulations.
Responsible for maintenance and reporting of environmental, safety and accident records to regulatory agencies.
Monitors and ensures compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory and code standards.
Manages contracted EVS and other related services and finds opportunity of expense reduction and participates in new contract negotiations.
Works with Facilities Director, Construction Project Manager and Clinical Operations to determine Facilities’ needs and helps to establish strategic goals to ensure safety and environmental compliance in all new construction and remodel projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Education: Required – Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Related Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis.
Experience: Required – One (1) or more years’ experience working with of OSHA, ADA, NFPA, and EPA regulations and programs.
Preferred - Demonstrated Project Management skills, Workers Compensation Administration experience
Required licensure: Must be 21 years or older and have a Valid New Mexico State Driver’s License
