Purpose of Position:
This position will review assistance cases and provide verification of performance appraisals with regard to Federal and State mandates. The HSD Quality Assurance Specialist provides oversight of case management and determinations and acts as the oversight link between public assistance field offices and Federal Government mandates. This position is accountable for monitoring a representative sample of cases, conducting client interviews and investigations, documenting findings, and providing justification of decisions.

This position is a Pay Band 70.
HSD Quality Assurance Specialist
High School Diploma or Equivalency and five (5) years of experience as a Family Assistance Analyst, Income Support Specialist, Child Support Legal Assistant and/or Child Support Enforcement Case Worker.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some lifting up to 25 pounds. Extensive statewide travel with some overnight stays is required.

Do you possess a valid New Mexico Driver's License?
Do you have three (3) years of child support program experience?
Do you have two (2) years of experience using the New Mexico Human Services Department Child Support Enforcement automated case management System (CSES)?
Have you planned and carried out full field investigations?
Have you evaluated adherence to state and federal standards regarding caseworkers' decisions that lead to positive or negative results for clients and/or the Department and federal sanctions?
Have you recorded additional or contradictory findings?
Have you prepared findings on detailed federal forms, worksheets and multiple computer information systems?
Do you have experience submitting case findings and offering suggestions for corrective action to management?
Have you participated in establishing standards and methods for conducting field investigations, including developing reporting procedures, field investigation reference guides, reporting forms and templates, and methods of accountability?
Do you have experience compiling data and analyzing findings to determine problem areas in the application of state and federal prescribed standards, policies and procedures?
