We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive Project Estimator in Commercial Services. This position is responsible for the pre-sale services and reporting portion of the Commercial Services department. The duties of this role are a combination of Salesforce administration, estimating, design, and sales. Support business development and will be responsible for coordinating with engineering services, applications, project management, logistics, and operations to ensure high-quality customer response. This position is located in downtown Albuquerque.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (engineering, solar, construction, electrical)

  • Must have a minimum of minimum of 1 or more years of experience in estimating

  • Must be advanced in MS Excel and MS Word

  • Must possess good customer service skills and the ability to empathize with the customer

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Must be process improvement oriented

  • Must have had exposure to reading CAD drawings or construction drawings

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with project management

  • Prior solar experience

  • Experience with database management

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Helioscope

  • Prior construction management experience


  • Knowledge- Familiarity with residential, commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic systems, product requirements, and engineering processes regarding system mounting structures.

  • Knowledge- Legal contracts and agreements

  • Knowledge- Directed reading development/editing/writing

  • Skill- Policy and procedure writing

  • Skill- Critical and analytical thinking, tactical and strategic problem solving

  • Skill- Data gathering, interpretive and qualitative analysis, tracking and reporting

  • Ability- To think conceptually, formulate and strategically plan

  • Ability- To delegate, assign, and instruct

  • Ability- To act proactively and utilize initiative

  • Ability- To guide and manage process

Ideal Candidate:

Ideal candidate will meet all the minimum requirements and some of the preferred requirements. Candidate will be self-motivated, be a team player, be very detail oriented and want to learn about the solar business. Candidate will be a quick learner, have ability to pick up technical concepts, be willing to learn new concepts and be comfortable with change. Ideal candidate will have had some exposure in the construction industry and have a desire to improve processes.
