DaVita Nurse Practitioner in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Full time Nurse Practitioner opportunity for our Primary Care Clinic, Tramway location

Overview of Position:

Functions independently, providing care to a group of specific patients. Incorporates skills of history and physical, assessment, treatment, and outpatient procedures. May prescribe medications after fulfilling requirements for prescriptive authority within the clinical specialty and practice setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Interviews new and established patients to perform history and physical examinations and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention.

  • Treats and assesses treatment of patients; assists physician with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.

  • Administers medications, arranges for referrals, orders and evaluates results of diagnostic tests, and establishes a presumptive diagnosis.

  • Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient treatment programs and collaborates with patients, families and healthcare providers in achieving optimal care.

  • Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instruction.

  • Assesses department’s compliance with regulations and corrects deficiencies within a timely manner.

  • Responsible for completing basic competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies.

Education:

Required – Graduate of an accredited Certified Nurse Practitioner Program. Preferred – Master’s Degree in Nursing

Experience:

Three (3) years of previous experience in hospital inpatient or clinic outpatient setting preferred.

Required licensure:

Current NBR Certification; Licensed RN by the State of NM; Current Nurse Practitioner in the state of NM; Applicable licensure required based on assignment. BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.

Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects; ability to function independently or as an effective team member; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; maintain strict patient confidentiality; analytical and problem solving skills
