A current opening through Robert Half Finance, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. What you get to do every day - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation - Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time - Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners - Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction - Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the yearly budget and forecasts - Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed - Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis - Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities For immediate consideration please email resume to firstname.lastname@example.org

Requirements: - Prior work done in public accounting is desired - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus - Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills - Detailed and have the ability work independently - Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Well-founded grasp of payroll - Comprehensive knowledge of account analysis - Strong familiarity with accounts payable - Financial statement preparation experience highly desired - Proven knowledge of budget forecasting - Accounts receivable experience preferred - Knowledge of account reconciliation - CPA or MBA preferred - Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing - Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
