WSP is currently initiating a search for a CONSTRUCTION SERVICES MANAGER for our ALBUQUERQUE office to supervise and manage the New Mexico Construction Services program and CS Projects. Areas of focus will include administration, project management, business development, and client relations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable in supervision, able to coordinate the work of Construction Services staff

  • Manage highway and bridge construction projects as per client contract documents, plans and specifications

  • Interact with clients to develop new or grow existing business opportunities

  • Develop and hire construction inspectors, laboratory technicians and other construction support personnel to augment client staffing needs

  • Be responsible for directing, monitoring, assigning, and evaluating the work of a project or program staff, and capable of effecting design or program changes to accommodate field or program conditions

  • Be capable of analyzing consultant value engineering and cost reduction proposals for feasibility of implementation

  • Be able to review and resolve project problems and contractual requirements with supervisor, designers, consultants, and personnel from other government agencies

  • Approve and certify all project/program documentation and submittals requiring certification or approval

  • Verify compliance with Federal and State provisions (e.g., Buy America, DBE, EEO, etc.) on highway and bridge construction projects.

  • Monitor and/or assure that assigned project(s)/Program(s) are implemented in compliance with WSP procedures, client contract documents, client specifications, environmental requirements, and the applicable Federal, State, and Client policies, procedures, and rules

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil or Construction Management preferred)

  • Minimum of 10 15 years of experience in Road and Bridge Construction

  • Professional Engineering license in the State of New Mexico

  • Client-facing experience, including business development and client relations

  • Experience with NMDOT and other government/transportation agencies in New Mexico
