Purpose of Position:

This position will provide clinical support and direct supervision of staff through the case management and the admission and/or discharge process. Incumbent will ensure appropriate and safe patient care services are provided in accordance with federal, state, local and JCAHO standards.


This position is a Pay Band 75.

Classification Description

Behavioral Health Therapist Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and New Mexico licensure as LBSW, LMSW, LISW, LPCC, LMHC, LMFT, or LPAT. A Provisional LBSW, Provisional LMSW, Provisional LISW, Temporary LPCC, Temporary LMHC, Temporary LMFT, or Temporary LPAT will also meet minimum qualifications. Failure to obtain full licensure or loss of licensure will disqualify the person from meeting the minimum requirements. For positions providing clinical supervision, a Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social work, two (2) years of experience and full licensure as an LISW, LPCC or LMFT is required.

Employment Requirements:

Must possess and maintain a current defensive driving course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving course certification as a condition of continued employment. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) courses are required as a condition of continued employment. Post-offer pre-employment Tuberculosis Test (TB) is required. Subject to nationwide background search pursuant to NM Caregivers Criminal Screening Act, (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978, and through NMAC.)

All applicants for this position must be licensed in accordance with Counseling and Therapy Practice Act, Sections 61-9A-1 through 61-9A-30 NMSA 1978 and 16.27.1 through 16.27.23 NMAC, as applicable. Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors, and in an office setting using related office equipment, with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying one-hundred plus (100+) pounds with assistance may be required.
